HELP AMERICA TO VOTE ACT HAVA
To comply with the Federal Help America Vote Act, voters in Custer County began using new election equipment at the polls. The new election equipment is called eSlate with Verifiable Ballot Option (VBO). The eSlate captures your votes electronically and the VBO prints a record of your votes on a voter-verified paper audit trail.
The new system is easy to use, accessible and meets all the requirements of the Help America Vote Act. Plus, the new system provides all voters with the opportunity to cast their ballots privately, accurately, securely and verifiably.
