MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTING INFORMATION
Military and overseas voter rights are protected by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA). These are voters who are U.S. military personnel and their family members; or U.S. citizens residing outside of the United States either temporarily or permanently. UOCAVA voting information can be found on the Colorado Secretary of State website or on the Federal Voting Assistance Program.
If you have a valid Colorado driver's license or ID card, you can register to vote or update your voting information by going to govotecolorado.gov. If not, then you can go to the Federal Voting Assistance Program and download a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to fill out. You can submit your FPCA to us by mail to Custer County Clerk, PO Box 150, Westcliffe, CO 81252; by fax to 719-783-2885; or email to peggy@custercountygov.com.
UOCAVA voters have several options to vote. You can receive your ballot in the mail, by fax or email. Ballots for the 2020 Custer County Primary Election will go out to UOCAVA voters on Friday, May 15, 2020. If returning your ballot by mail, it must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2020 and received in our office by July 8, 2020. If you chose the online voting method, you can fax your ballot and affidavit and cover sheet to 719-783-2885, go to the secure ballot return site myballot.sos.colorado.gov or email it to mailballot@custercountygov.com.
